Corbels

$75.00

The Olde Mill’s reclaimed wood corbels are built for those with an eye for detail. Traditional stone corbels were designed to provide architectural support for an external balcony or overhang. We engineer our solid corbels to support interior structures like archways, countertops, mantels and shelves. As with all our products, our corbels offer a simple solution for those looking to add warmth and charm to any room.

Description

Material

Reclaimed Longleaf Pine

Like fine wine, the beauty and majesty of Longleaf Pine comes from its age. Our Longleaf Pine lumber has been salvaged from 100+ year old buildings set for demolition. This antique wood is much harder and dryer than virgin wood, attributes that lend to its strength and longevity, which keeps it from warping and twisting with age. Its beautiful, close-grained appearance makes it an excellent choice for projects showcasing the wood’s natural brilliance. The tenacious and splendid characteristics of antique Longleaf Pine is the reason The Olde Mill selects it as their production material.

Process

Exceptional Craftsmanship

Our process begins with salvaged wood that is milled into ¼” veneers. These veneers are then laminated to a plywood substrate. From there, we give the edges a locking miter profile, to ensure that all sides interlock smoothly, before assembling it with a high-quality, water-resistant wood glue. This process results in a seamless beam that appears solid on the outside, yet is completely hollow inside.
